This Giving Tuesday, the PA Solar Center needs your help now more than ever. The future of solar tax credits and other financing under the Inflation Reduction Act is now at a crossroads — and we have our work cut out for us.
We are currently putting together a plan to fight for solar at all levels of government, as well as to continue our work directly in Pennsylvania communities. But we need your support and partnership.
There are many ways you can support our work, and many of them don’t involve spending any money at all (but the funds are so important!). Keep reading to learn more — but if you’ve already seen enough, you can donate here.
The PA Solar Center works every day to lift up the benefits of clean energy to all Pennsylvanians in order to create more resilient and livable communities. Join us!
The PA Solar Center works to TRANSFORM our energy economy through our GET Solar technical assistance program that helps nonprofits, businesses, municipalities, schools, and farms to go solar with our solar feasibility studies, connections to qualified developers, and identification of tax credits and funding pathways to achieve their solar dreams, helping them save thousands of dollars each year. We’ve facilitated more almost 4 megawatts of solar at organizations such as Global Links, Community College of Allegheny County, Fallingwater, Berner International, and more. Our volunteer SolarCorps of 70+ individuals helps to map the solar potential of the under-resourced communities where we work. We see first-hand how these organizations are using the savings from solar to divert precious resources to the mission of their organizations, to hire more workers, and to create economic opportunities in their communities. And we now have more than 250 entities in our GET Solar queue, including 60 school districts!
We work to EDUCATE the general public, legislators, local officials, solar industry professionals, and advocates about the opportunities offered by solar energy to our state through our monthly webinar series called Watts & Learn, our newsletters, and through the media. Our Lodestar Award programs celebrate the leadership of those entities that have gone solar to inspire others in their communities to follow their example.
Our public policy team engages legislators, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, including environmental groups, solar industry professionals, farmers, utilities, labor unions, and others to ADVOCATE for robust renewable energy policy in Pennsylvania. We track every solar-related bill in Harrisburg and provide a summary and analysis in our Legislative Guide, and we work with multiple coalitions to move the conversation forward. We also watchdog policies at the state and federal levels that may be a detriment to clean energy advancement.
