Join the Pennsylvania Solar Center, the Philadelphia Energy Authority, and our guest speakers to learn about the elective pay benefits for tax-exempt entities who go solar. As part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2023, tax-exempt entities that install solar, including nonprofits, municipalities, schools, etc., are permitted to claim an elective pay (also known as direct pay) option that is the equivalent to the tax credits available to for-profit entities. These benefits include a 30% (or more in some cases) reimbursement from the IRS for the total cost of the system.

We will be joined by the Clifton Larson Allen firm that will explain how tax-exempt entities can file for these benefits. In addition, Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG) will join us to review the current timelines and guidelines to qualify for these benefits, which were recently changed in July by Congress.

While some of these benefits are expiring sooner than previously expected, there is still time to explore solar. We will explain the PA Solar Center’s GET Solar technical partner program that helps entities to explore solar, identify financing, and find a qualified contractor for their project. We will also go over the Solarize Greater Philadelphia program that is a joint initiative between the PA Solar Center and the Philadelphia Energy Authority to help non-residential entities to save money by going solar.

So, whether you’ve already made the decision to go solar or are just beginning your journey, this webinar may be helpful for your organization.
